The largest square: the Aduana square.

Can you see the Mayoralty of Cartagena? There is a square in front of it!

Listen here!:

The Plaza de la Aduana is the largest plaza in Cartagena.

Photo: the Plaza de la Aduana.

It was originally intended to serve as the main square, that's why the administrative offices were built around it during the colonial era. There is the mansion where the founder of Cartagena, Don Pedro de Heredia, lived, and a statue in homage to Christopher Columbus.

The name of this square, like many others, has changed over time; At first, when the royal offices were installed in the building that borders the entire side of this square, it was called the Antigua Real Contaduría..

But in 1790, it was given the name of Plaza de la Aduana, when the Customs Administration began to function in the same building.

But remember: You can’t park your car here!

You can find it next to the plaza de los Coches, and behind the plaza San Pedro Claver. Here works the Alcaldía de Cartagena (Mayoralty of Cartagena)

Avenir Light es una fuente limpia y elegante, apreciada por los diseñadores. Es agradable a la vista e ideal para títulos, párrafos y más.
